Samsung Galaxy M42 5G Front Glass Only

A replacement for the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G Front Glass Only is a part that is available, but you need to be aware of the complexities of this specific repair

1. The Part: Front Glass Only

• What it is: The “Front Glass Only” (also called the outer glass lens) is just the top layer of glass that covers the display. It does not include the display panel (AMOLED) or the touch-sensitive layer (digitizer).
• Availability & Price: You can find the raw part for a relatively low price, often in the range of ₹80 – ₹250 or a few US dollars, from online spare parts retailers.

2. The Repair Complexity

The process of replacing only the front glass on an AMOLED display like the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is extremely difficult and risky:

• Factory-Level Separation: The original Super AMOLED display, the digitizer (touch layer), and the front glass are bonded together with a transparent adhesive (OCA) at the factory.
• Specialized Equipment: Separating only the broken top glass without damaging the delicate, functional AMOLED panel underneath requires professional equipment like a hot plate/separator machine and a high degree of technical skill (a process called “glass separation” or “screen refurbishing”).
• High Risk of Damage: If the display is even slightly bent, pressure is applied incorrectly, or the separation is done too quickly, the underlying AMOLED panel is highly likely to break, resulting in black spots, lines, or a completely dead screen. This would then require purchasing the full Display Combo Folder.
