Samsung Galaxy S25+ Microphone

Microphone Locations Samsung flagship phones typically have at least three distinct microphones:

1. Primary/Bottom Microphone (Main Mic):
   • Location: On the bottom edge of the phone, usually located near the USB-C charging port.²
   • Function: This is the main microphone you speak into during standard phone calls. It is also the primary input for voice recordings and some apps.
2. Secondary/Top Microphone (Noise Cancellation/Stereo Mic):
   • Location: On the top edge of the phone, often a tiny pinhole.
   • Function: This microphone is mainly used for noise cancellation during phone calls (to filter out ambient noise) and for capturing the other channel for stereo audio recording in videos.
3. Third Microphone (for Zoom/Video):
   • Location: Often located on the back of the phone near the camera module.
   • Function: This microphone (sometimes called a “Zoom-in microphone”) helps focus audio capture when recording videos, especially as you zoom in on a subject.

Important Note on Replacement

If a microphone fails, it’s often not a single component that’s replaced. The microphones are typically soldered onto a printed circuit board (PCB) or a flex cable:

• The Primary/Bottom Microphone is usually integrated into the Charging Port Flex PCB Board (the same board that houses the USB-C port).
• The Secondary/Top Microphone and other microphones are on separate flex cables or connected to the mainboard.

If you are experiencing microphone issues, it is recommended to have the device professionally inspected at a Samsung Authorized Service Center or a reputable repair shop.
